RC Business Support (RCBS), based at Sheffield Technology Parks Don Valley Site, were awarded the Investors in People Standard in September after 3 months of hard work of preparing the business for assessment.
Richard Campos, MD of RCBS said, “I am delighted that we have attained the Standard after months of hard work to position the business where it had the opportunity to gain the award”

The Standard demonstrates that a business has the capability and is operating at a level above the norm. In today's turbulent economy, it is vital to the health of any business that it raises itself above the average and stands out from the crowd.
Campos says, “If you stand out from the crowd, you stand more chance of being noticed and picked for the job. This is one of the reasons why we decided to apply for the Standard. It shows would be clients that you can operate at a level consistent with the bigger companies and for the team, it recognises that they have a voice in the running of the company as well as rewarding individual contributions that enable the business to achieve the high standards it sets itself.”
Karen Wood, Business Incubation Manager for Sheffield Technology Parks agrees. “We have held the Investors in People Standard ourselves for many years as we recognise the benefits of being able to offer our customers a bit more in a competitive environment. We are delighted that RCBS have achieved this standard which bears testimony to not only the work they have done, but also to their plans for continuous development going forwards.”
With nearly 20 clients working with RCBS since they started work on the Investors award, Richard's view on the value of the award has been re-inforced “If you work to a level of excellence it attracts individuals who recognise that value. In our case, it attracted business owners wanting to work with people who don't take mediocrity as the norm.”
RCBS will now begin planning for the European Excellence Award.
